3rd Aug - Mary Rose on Tour! Cowdray Talks at Southsea Castle
Stand where Henry VIII stood — and hear the past come to life.
Join us in the keep of Southsea Castle on Sunday 3rd August 2025 for a fascinating look into the Cowdray Engraving depicting one of the most dramatic moments in Tudor naval history — the Battle of the Solent and the sinking of the Mary Rose.
Through this short but informative talk, discover the story of the Mary Rose; built, sunk, and raised in Portsmouth. Then, head up to the castle battlements to view where she sank beneath the waves in battle against the French — within sight of the king himself.
Talks will last approximately 30 minutes and cost £10 per adult, £5 per child. Alternatively, you can buy one family ticket for £20 which covers 6 people (there must be at least one child in your family party). All proceeds from sales of the talks go towards the ongoing conservation of the Mary Rose to support future generations.
