Mary Rose VIP Experience

Book your VIP Experience now which includes the followng:

11am - Arrival at museum: You will be welcomed by one of our Expert Mary Rose Guides in the Museum Reception, here you will be given a headset system to ensure your tour is private. Your guide will lead you through the museum for a 90 minute ultimate highlight tour, including access to the museums secondary collection, in which artefacts not on display to the public can be seen.

12:30pm – Refreshments: After your tour you will be led to the museum’s Wardroom, here you will be provided with a drink of your choice (red wine, white wine, tea, coffee or juice). You will be able to enjoy private use of the wardroom to take a break and soak in the atmosphere.

12:45pm – An audience with The King: King Henry VIII himself will join you in the Wardroom an regale you a dramatic re-telling of the fateful Battle of The Solent and the sinking of the King’s favourite warship – The Mary Rose. There will be time afterwards for questions and answers and your chance to mingle with royalty.

13:15pm – Private balcony access: You will have the opportunity to view one of a kind scenes across the Dockyard, including stunning views of the Queen Elizabeth Carrier, and a chance to have your photo taken with King Henry VIII.

13:40pm – Depart for Rib Ride: You will be led to Gunwharf Quays by a member of our team, where your rib will depart.

2:00pm – Mary Rose Rib Ride: You’ll be whisked away on the waves in a private charter rib, you will be taken to the Mary Rose wreck site and enjoy a short talk with Dr Alexandra Hildred (Head of Research, and part of the Mary Rose original archaeological underwater excavation team). The rib ride will also provide stunning views of Portsmouth Harbour, The Solent and Southsea seafront.

After your exciting Wreck Site Rib Experience, you can return to the Museum to continue exploring the lives of the Crew, or enjoy some of the delights of Gunwarf Quays.  Your admission ticket for the experience allows you to visit the Museum again at any time in the forthcoming year.
