2018 Anniversary Lecture Series

This one day event will take place on Saturday 13th October and is open to everyone.

This year our speakers list includes:

  • Dr Sean Cunningham - Head of Medieval Records at The National Archives
  • Dr Jane Malcolm-Davies - The Tudor Tailor and historical clothing expert
  • Dr Dominic Fontana - Historical Geographer with over 35 years of involvement with the Mary Rose Trust

Tickets: The ticket price includes lunch and refreshments, as well as the opportunity to visit The Mary Rose at the end of the day. We apologise but we are unable to offer a concessions price.

Venue: This year the lectures are being hosted in the Portland Building at the University of Portsmouth (Portland St, Portsmouth PO1 3AH).

Parking and transport: There is a University car park near the venue, however we cannot guarantee spaces as there other events going on that day. We advise using alternative car parks in the area (e.g. Portsmouth Historic Dockyard or Gunwharf). If you are using public transport the venue is a 10 minute walk from Portsmouth Harbour train and bus station.

Seating: The lectures will be taking place in a tiered lecture theatre but there are wheelchair spaces available. There is separate ticket to reserve one of these spaces. Any guests accompanying a wheelchair user will need to buy a tiered seat ticket.
